Otakuthon was seriously awesome this year!
I went up on the Thursday to Montreal so that I wouldn't have to worry about getting my cosplays on in a rush or missing part of Friday. And I had a photoshoot arranged for Friday morning.
I stayed with ~Raybras, ~Alexis-Rider, ~DarkWolfrin. *trixyloupwolf stayed in a hotel room close to the con. My friend ~CosplayCanada stayed with us at the apartment in Ste Therese.
Woke up early and wore Ren from Elemental Gelade with my boyfriend ~Raybras as Coud. I made everything of these cosplays, including his prop (the hook).
At 10 I had a photoshoot with ~simakai of her Lia de Beaumont cosplay from Le Chevalier D'Eon. Good series. Read it if you haven't. We went to the Old Port to do photos.
When we came back ~CosplayCanada had arrived where Dave was and I sat with them for a while after the shoot and said goodbye to ~simakai and bade her a good Otakuthon. We walked around after a while, got food and whatnot with friends.
At 6 we had our private photoshoot with =LiquidCocaine-Photos. I'll post up shots when I receive them! It was such a fun photoshoot and there were some really cute shots of ~Raybras and I taken. I can't wait to see the final ones!
I got to see *NailoSyanodel in one of her lovely cosplays~ I'm sorry hun, I don't know what character it was ><
I forget what time it was, but ~Alexis-Rider, ~CosplayCanada and I all headed back to the apartment together. ~Raybras came home around 1:30. I didn't mind that we were apart for a while - we were together 95% of the day I love you!
Amazingly my cosplay was really warm! I wasn't expecting Velvet to be soooo warm! The places that were very layered with all of the red velvet I expected, but even the neck on my shirt was hot! Holy!
~Raybras and ~CosplayCanada spent a good portion of the day with me. More with ~CosplayCanada. I didn't mind too much. I saw ~Raybras for almost all of Friday and most of Saturday, so I couldn't really complain if we were apart.
Only thing I hated was the hour in weapon's check for the psypher chain. Understandable to do weapon's check. But seriously? AN HOUR?? Anime North has a shorter weapon's check line! And to top it off, they told me to go to an extra line for the check because they weren't sure if my prop would pass. Uh... it's not glass... when the weapon's master checked it and found it was all plastic except for some screws that held some of it together, he let me go.
The day went fairly smoothly. I didn't enter the masquerade this year though. I just didn't feel up to it and I had no clue anymore what I'd do on stage to begin with. So I just wandered around taking photos and went to do a shoot for ~CosplayCanada of his Master cosplay from Doctor Who.
When we came back we went to dinner a while after with ~Alexis-Rider, ~DarkWolfrin and *trixyloupwolf at Popessa! OMG I loooove their pasta. I want to go there every year at least once for dinner. I don't care which night, as long as I go once. They're that GOOD!!! I just had regular linguine with alfredo sauce though.... I don't need to eat much. It was shortly after dinner though that ~CosplayCanada and I went to meet up with *everage for a photoshoot of my Velvet cosplay.
After the shoot we wandered about some more and went up to the cosplay cafe and met up with a dear friend of mine and sat with him for a while, where we also showed him the birthday present that I drew for ~CosplayCanada. Grell hugging a Bardroy plushie x3 The only thing that drove us crazy was when they played Nyan Cat. GAHHH MY EARS!!!!
We stayed up there until my friend left to go home. Hugs all around! And then, more photos!
When photos were done, and we were in the main lobby, the ravers came down chanting "GAKUPO! GAKUPO! GAKUPO~" it was kinda funny. And ~CosplayCanada switched to being Coulson from The Avengers. So when he did this, we sought a Loki cosplayer and had him kill Coulson. A fine job. Done with a GREEN lightsaber xD
We met up with my boyfriend ~Raybras late that night and we all went back to the apartment together.
Big cosplay today. I wore Kuja from Dissidia: Final Fantasy which I didn't put everything on at the apartment. ~CosplayCanada stashed his stuff under his table in the exhibition hall. Where I got to sit and finish putting on the cosplay (like the nail polish). Wearing him the third time was actually a lot easier.
I didn't do as much wandering this day, but I did get to meet three of my favourite voice actors. I had the pleasure of meeting Tara Platt (who voices Temari in Naruto and Raine Sage in Tales of Symphonia) and Yuri Lowenthall (who voiced Asch von Fabre in Tales of the Abyss and Sasuke in Naruto). Unfortunately I didn't have anything for Tara to sign so she signed a card for me advertising her's and Yuri's show. Yuri signed a button that had Asch on it by *kaiser-mony (who later pressed the paper into a button for me! GAH she's awesome!) ~CosplayCanada and I got a photo with them
While we were in the line to meet Scott McNeil, my friend *YamanekoDemon arrived and brought me posters and stayed with us to the end. Sadly, ~CosplayCanada didn't get to meet him because his friends he came with wanted to head to the bus station SUPER early! But, *YamanekoDemon and I did manage to ask him if he could do a video of saying hi to him for me. And he did it in the voice of Hack from ReBoot! Oh it was awesome to see him do this! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!
You're welcome Bardo!
We were supposed to also meet James Michael Tatum who voices Sebastian in Kuroshitsuji. ~CosplayCanada and I had planned to freak him out with Kuja going "SEBASCHAN!!!!!!" to him. But he got sick before the convention and was unable to attend
I went to the big dinner organized by ~ryoky28 this night. And got to see ~SweetTifa, ~IvyLightheart, *Mannaka, *kaiser-mony, ~DROOphotographer, *aoifasd, WildRose, and so many more awesome and amazing people!!!! St Hubert really provides great food! SO DELICIOUS! Oh and the tears when ~ryoky28 and ~SweetTifa got the gift from everyone. Hugs all around and at least they were tears of joy You guys are truly awesome!
I can't wait for next year now!!
