Pictured: Me as The Master from "End of Time" in Doctor Who. This was my first time going to Ottawa Comic Con, and my friends invited me along for the Friday! Hopefully next year I can go again :) Highlights: Vic Mignogna Burt Ward Fun Daleks Richard Pace Score: 8/10 So, I went to Ottawa Comic Con 2013 yesterday just for the Friday. I have to say it was a lot of fun and I am so glad that I went.
Rob and his girlfriend Ally invited me to go with them for the day! It was so awesome to get to go with them! Getting to go to this con with them was so much fun. And it was crazy in a good way. We headed out about 11am or so, and stopped a few times along the way. Like at Tim Hortons where Ice Capps were bought. Mmm delicious We got to the con at about 2:30. We wandered Artist Alley and the Dealers Room, hung out with some Daleks for a little bit, saw the Land Speeder, R2D2, and the Batmobile. I decided I'd cosplay The Master from Doctor Who, End of Time version. Also known as Sir Eats-a-Lot. But because it was a genderbend, Lady Eats-a-Lot. A few recognized I was the Master which was pretty cool. Didn't expect any recognition since this version looks so normal. But Whovians spot it. I loaned ~cherryblossom72 my Organization XIII coat for the day. Fit wise I think it fits her better. The three of us went to go and see Vic Mignogna I got him to record a video for my mom for mother's day. It's personalized and my mom has been so touched/thankful for it. Next time I see Vic though I need to cosplay him. I also got to meet Burt Ward. No autograph or photo, I just wanted to go and meet him and say hello. He's hoping that next time I go to see him I'll bring my Batman movie that has him and Adam West. I even got to meet the writer for the comic Elephantmen. It was pretty cool. Took a couple of photos for ~The-All-Night-Pony of him with him. So awesome! Also went to go see Richard Pace, who I once had as an instructor at Max the Mutt. Good to see him. He recognized me! Despite the wig and makeup and everything! But he said that despite how many people he meets at conventions, very few of the ones that come up to him are former students. I just wish that I had thought of it when the three of us were eating to take their boxes for their kettle chips and wedges, to put it with my empty hot dog wrapper, and my can of pop, and have them take a photo as if I were demanding more food. Because "End of Time" Master is always eating! Some point soon hopefully. Maybe next weekend at the Tweed Heritage Centre's Yard Sale. But Ottawa was so awesome and it was my first time there in eight years. It was great to go back and I got to see ~Tsukune and Wild Rose~! Hopefully I can return sometime :)
