Well, I am NOT dating him! I do have a boyfriend. And it' s not him. I am dating ~Raybras, who I have been with for nearly five years! Yes we have a distant relationship, but we are committed to each other and love each other with all our hearts.
This is my boyfriend:
He and I view each other like brother and sister. We are extremely close friends that stand up for one another when needed, we're there for one another, we have a lot of trust and respect for each other. Yes we are always together at some cons, but y'know what? It's better than wandering by yourself. Yes my boyfriend goes to cons, but he likes to do his own thing, and my friend comes and hangs out with me.
*CosplayCanada is a dear friend who I love like a brother. I would trust him with my life (and I've had to before when I took a fall at Fan Expo in August). I trust him whole-heartedly and it took him a fair while to get all that trust from me.
So please do not try to turn my relationship with my friend into what it is not. If you're going to think we're a couple, please ask us! BECAUSE WE ARE NOT! The closest we could get is a cosplay couple because of some of the cosplays we've chosen to do (we were not expecting pairings for Thunderbirds....). We are only friends!
Yes, for one of the pictures of he and I, I'm giving him a kiss on the cheek. I got a lot of flack for this photo:
And then I got flack for what I said I did for my reaction in this photo:
Just because I hang around with *CosplayCanada every con he and I are at together, and how we act together, does not mean he and I like each other that way. I will give a prime example of this.
At Fan Expo on the Thursday we were cosplaying Slenderman (him) and ballgown Grell Sutcliff (me). The ballgown was pale blue (though in most lighting looked white). When we got off the subway at Islington that night he didn't have his headcover on and just had the suit. Someone said "Congratulations" to us. We just looked at each other puzzled and looked back at the man who said this. He just smiled back at us and went into the subway train.
We looked at each other again, and I came out with "oh dear god NO!".
All he did was ask "What? What is it?"
That's when I explained to him "I think that guy thinks we got married..."
His eyes widened and we both went "EEWWWW NOOOOOO!!!!"
That should show we do not feel that way about each other. To us even though I don't have biological brother, or him a biological sister... it'd be like dating an actual brother or sister that's related to us.
I am not going to change how I act around him. He's my brother. Yeah sure we got a lot in common, and we get along extremely well. But isn't that a good thing? He's my friend, my brother. And I'm not changing how I am with him because of those who would assume more of us. No. Please just ask us. But the answer will always be "we're not dating!"
