WOW! This is the first time I have ever been asked to be a cosplay guest for a convention! I must say I'm really thrilled and quite honoured at the same time! I will admit, I've wanted to be invited to a con as a cosplay guest before, and I honestly never thought it would happen. And now, here I am, a cosplay guest for Ochiba~Con! While it is a small con, it's rather an honour to be asked either way. Right now I know of a few things that are for sure as to the weekend. More may be added over time, but I will post on my Facebook about that. And deviantART and Twitter if more comes up. My Cosplays I'll be wearing Xemnas all day Saturday. However I don't think I'll have my weapons with me for him. Not much point as I think I'll be behind the FrostCon/Quinte Mini Con table most of the time. I coordinated this one with fellow guest (and my best friend) CosplayCanada who will be wearing his Beast's Castle Marluxia. Sunday I'm in an original version of Kurloz Makara from Homestuck that I designed. This costume is not yet done and still has a lot of details that need to be added. I'm hoping I can finish it in time. The version I'm making is a special surprise to all but a select few. The picture used is just to indicate that it's on the fancier side. Table, Panel & Masquerade TABLE: I'll be at the table for FrostCon & Quinte Mini Con for a good portion of the weekend with CosplayCanada. So at least I know I won't be alone, and I will be far from bored. He and I always have a good time together - and one friend has pointed out that he and I make a great team! PANEL: Right now it looks like I'll be hosting a panel with CosplayCanada. The day and time is to be determined yet. But the panel will be on Thunderbirds, one of our favourite classic series. If you don't know of it, it's a Supermarionation series from 1965 by Gerry Anderson, that follows the heroics of International Rescue. International Rescue is made up of John Tracy and his five sons. We'll have a full slideshow presentation plus CosplayCanada's figures maybe... MASQUERADE: Yep! I'm even involved in the masquerade! I was going to compete in it until I was asked if I'd be a guest. Then I was asked if I would be a performance judge for the masquerade. This will be my first time judging, but at least I know what to watch for when it comes to a good performance.Ironically I prefer that I am doing stage judging instead of workmanship. I find it ironic because the awards I have are for workmanship, and none for performance. I won't be too far from CosplayCanada on this either... he's the Master of Ceremonies! Hotel Room This is the first time that I don't have to pay for my hotel room. But from what I've been told it's customary for a con to pay for a guest's room. Which is pretty awesome really. I had the choice of being in a room on my own, or sharing. I chose to share. Of course, who am I with? CosplayCanada. I don't have a problem with this of course. He's awesome! He's like my brother so I know it'll be fun times ahead. Lots of music, Cards Against Humanity, and just general derp that he and I tend to do when together. I just hope we actually sleep! I know what he and I are like when in the same house or hotel room.... very little sleep (because we'll be up till 3-5am talking). I Need to Finish My Costume! This is one of the few work in progress shots that I will post of this costume. Only this symbol will have WIP shots of it. Why? For the simple fact that I want this costume to be a surprise for people. There are a couple of things that I worry about in regards to this costume, as I've encountered the issue before on a different cosplay. I would like people to keep in mind, that just because there is still a bit of projection, does not mean I am not bound. I'm busty, I can't help but have my chest still stick out as a male character. The Rage symbol is being completely hand embroidered. And hopefully time will allow for me to add beads all the way along the edges for added sparkle. This was actually going to be entered in the masquerade until I was asked to be a guest and judge. I hope it'll turn out the way I want. It's pretty much just the embroidery and beads, I need to paint details on one piece and get ribbon still, and then add details to the top of the outfit. To top it all off, I also need to finish the horns!
